WritersCafe offers a wide variety of tools for accomplished and budding writers alike. It is a comprehensive venue in which all writers are valued and supported.

Of the hundreds of writing communities that have popped up on the Internet, WritersCafe is clearly one of the front runners. It offers tools for writers to improve their craft, support for writers in need of a helping hand and a forum for writers to converse and network.

Creating a WritersCafe Profile

Signing up for the service is both easy and free. Once signed up for WritersCafe, members are given the choice to create a public profile for other writers to browse. The profile may include the writer's name, location, picture and personal webpage. Though, these are not mandatory.

The profile is also a great place to post a short bio that other writers may read to learn more about the writer in question. It's a great space to write goals, opinions and feelings towards writers and writing. There is also space for writers to leave comments and friendly reminders.

Among the most beneficial aspect of the profile is that writers may leave links to one or all of their posted poems/stories so that browsers may easily navigate and read what each writer has to offer.

Posting Writing on WritersCafe

Posting writing is a very easy process. There is a form in which the writers choose the genre of their piece and the intended audience. From that point on, writers must simply copy and paste the desired text into the form and submit it to the site.

Getting and Giving Reviews and Helpful Suggestions

Simply posting work is often not enough to garner attention from the sites many writers. So, take initiative and start reading the work of other writers. Leave comments or helpful suggestions on their published works.

When leaving comments, do not be afraid to give helpful criticism. Writers like to know what is or is not working. Leaving a comment that says, "This was great!" may not be enough, offer some explanation as to why it was great of what was so great about it. If the writing wasn't solid, leave some advice for the writer so that they may better their writing. Often, writers will return the favor.

Creating and Building Relationships With Other Writers

If someone's work is wonderful, do not be afraid to send them a friend request. WritersCafe is all about building relationships with other writers. Meeting writers with like minds and abilities will prove eternally helpful during and after the writing process. Do not be afraid to do a little networking.

Writing groups are another great way to meet and befriend writers. Take some time and browse the groups that WritersCafe has to offer and then join a few. There's no rule as to how many groups a writer can join, if the group thing works, do not be afraid to join a few more.

Entering Writing Contests

With all of the help the community and other writers are going to be able to provide, the writing should be in top shape. So, go out there and enter a few writing contests. Winning is wonderful, but putting the writing out there is just as liberating.
